A full-time roundsman or roundswoman is required for an immediate start delivering dairy and grocery products to our residential and business customers in and around Chester.
You will be driving a Ford Transit milk float and will need a full, clean driving licence. You will receive full training during your initial 13 week probationary period. You should be a people person with the ability to get on with people of different ages and backgrounds. Excellent customer service skills with a good command of the English language are essential both verbally and written. Good mental arithmetic is a must.
You will be working Monday-Saturday starting at midnight. You will typically be completing 250-350 deliveries per day. How long the round takes to deliver will depend on how fit you are. On Thursday mornings after completion of the round you will be required to call on customers and collect payments. Due to an increasing number of customers paying by direct debit there are few customers who require call backs.
Prior experience in a similar role or night work is preferred but not essential.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Loading of dairy and grocery products onto milk float
- Ensuring all deliveries are made correctly, on time, and any order amendments and payments are inputted into your electronic roundsbook
- Promoting goods through distribution of leaflets to existing customers
- Invoice customers as required, ensuring keep on top of customer debts
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times
- Complete basic admin tasks
- Unloading of empty bottles and unsold stock upon return to the dairy
In return you will receive a salary of £450 per week gross during the probationary period. Following successful completion of the 13 week probationary period your salary will be made up of a basic salary plus commission. Year 1 OTE £25-26k. Year 2 £26-30k. You will receive 4 weeks' paid holiday per year plus you will not be required to work on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
