An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Database Administrator in an innovative, Sunday Times Virgin Fast track 100 retailer and manufacturer of print who are offering a competitive salary. Operating through many Brands, they target all sectors of the market; from small & micro businesses to the largest FTSE 100 Companies.

Following phenomenal growth they are seeking a Database Administrator to join their Web Development team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate, with great potential to progress your career within a rapidly expanding team and company. You will be based at their new company headquarters near Rotherham which provide a modern and open plan working environment.

Key aspects of the role include, but are not limited to the following;

- Responsibility for all aspects of their databases behind their websites and in-house order processing software- maintaining performance, integrity, replication and security across them.
- Monitoring the database activity.
- Developing new database functionality.
- Overseeing large architecture projects within the business.
- Carrying out day to day maintenance and operational tasks.

Essential Requirements;

As the successful DBA you will have:
- A strong SQL DBA background with a great understanding of SQL Server 2012 - 2014
- Proven experience in the management of complex SQL server architectures
- A strong understanding of data modelling
- The ability to performance tune and optimise the SQL systems
- Good knowledge of performance monitoring
- Experience in Database security policies
- Proven experience in Database optimisation (indexing, statistics and optimal placement)
- Skill in the identification of performance problems and implementation of solutions to correct performance problems
- Skill in conducting tests on newly installed/upgraded software
- Skill in isolating and resolving complex problems and utilising appropriate diagnostic tools

Desirable Requirements;

- NoSQL and Redis experience
- Experience with AWS/cloud infrastructure
