The Position:

They now have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Customer Services Assistant to join their team who will have the opportunity to work in an award winning and highly customer centric business in the heart of York’s city centre. Reporting to the Team Co-ordinator, some of the activities that you will be responsible for include:

- Handling telephone calls and responding to email enquiries from potential & existing customers ensuring their needs are met in a professional and efficient manner
- Issuing booking confirmations to the customer ensuring all details are correct
- Building on-going relationships with customers and delivering a world class service
- Supporting the administration of holiday cancellations and discussing other available options with the customer
- Booking UK rail and Hotel requirements and liaising with insurance companies as and when required
- Carrying out mobility checks to ensure the customers mobility expectations are met where possible giving a day by day run through of itinerary to ensure anyone with mobility issues are handled with care and sensitivity
- Conducting out-bound calling to ensure customers have all the information they require to make informed decisions on their holiday and are kept up to date with any changes to their booking
- Facilitating the Incident Report process ensuring customers are supported
- Contacting customers to follow-up and resolve over-due payments of balances or deposits
- Preparing and dispatching customer documentation ensuring all information and documentation is correct
- Supporting customer services on a rota basis. Hours will be allocated Monday to Sunday and applicants must be flexible in their working hours. Weekend working is a mandatory requirement on a rota basis.

Customer Services Assistant Attributes:

- Proven experience of working in a customer service environment and delivering to deadlines and targets
- Able to demonstrate an engaging and enthusiastic interest in travel
- Experience of working in a busy telephone environment and telephone experience in relation to inbound and outbound call handling
- Able to work under pressure with strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong influencing skills
- Good time management skills
- Good general education and knowledge of Microsoft software packages
