A North Shropshire based supplier of inks and coding equipment has a vacancy for a customer service assistant. This role will involve contacting existing customers to arrange and book services; following up any enquiries or complaints; and proactively contacting our customers to ensure they are receiving the service they require.

The position requires someone who can manage their time efficiently, has a confident telephone manner, and can update records accurately. The ideal candidate will also have some experience of working in a telephone-based customer service role. We are a family-owned company and this position offers an opportunity for an enterprising individual to expand and develop their role within the requirements of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Call customers to arrange and book service calls for their printers and coding machines.
- Contact key customers regularly to obtain feedback about service levels.
- Record and monitor customer complaints.
- Contact customers to ensure quotes etc. have been received.
- Produce monthly reports on activity.
- Assist in the response to customer enquiries.
- Contact customers following service calls or machine installations.
- Ensure customer contact database is kept up to date.
- Compile and send out regular newsletters to customers.
- Keep KPI monitoring records up to date.
- Assist with other marketing activities.
- Research business-related information.
- Other duties as required.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Confident telephone manner.
- Customer focus.
- Experience of working in a customer service role would be an advantage.
- Good written/spoken English.
- To be adaptable and flexible in approach to work.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to deal confidently and effectively with a variety of people.
- Good standard of numeracy.
- Good computer skills.

Hours of work
Standard office hours. 5 days per week Monday – Friday.
