This company is a Social Enterprise. Their social mission is to tackle financial inclusion by offering affordable credit to individuals who are unable to obtain credit from Banks and Building Societies and would otherwise be at the mercy of high cost predatory lenders.

They provide their services through their retail branch network and online lending platform and have helped over 39,000 customers with affordable credit, saving each customer on average £237 versus a comparable high cost lender.

To support their social mission they also provide a variety of administration services to alternative financial services companies around the UK, they operate on a not for profit basis, with no shareholders surpluses are used to expand their services and serve the wider community to achieve their social mission.

Credit Risk Manager

Job Description

This is an exciting new role for someone to manage the strategic analytics of their lending products; it’s an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment for an innovative company that is passionate about making a positive difference to peoples lives.

You will be responsible for credit risk strategy, data analytics and management of their Automated Decisioning Engine (ADP), in addition you will be managing and developing the online lending team to continually improve their processes and credit strategy.

Key responsibilities

- Continually analyse effectiveness of existing loans strategies, and identify new and improved strategies and opportunities.
- Work with the senior management to design and monitor reports to help measure the effectiveness of strategies and products, and communicate results.
- Define and deploy improved loans operational processes and tools to maximise operational performance.
- Continually analyse and review department processes and procedures to achieve maximum operational efficiency.
- Management and development of online lending team
- Integrate and manage key performance metrics
- Cultivate an environment that encourages maximum effectiveness, personal growth and development, open communications and teamwork, providing leadership to team members to maximise energy, commitment and engagement

Essential requirements

- Passionate about working for a social enterprise and making a positive difference
- Understanding of the full consumer credit lifecycle including acquisition, fraud, account management, collections and recoveries
- Experience in performance management
- Project Management skills
- A positive and self-sufficient leader with a strong commercial acumen
- Commercial and analytical experience with working in a financial services business
- Highly proficient in Excel/SQL and data analytics

Desirable

- Experience of managing customer service teams successfully
- Regulated financial services experience
- Understanding the sub-prime loans market and competition
- Educated to degree level in a numerate discipline
