Credit Control Administrator

This family owned regional distributor supplies a complete range of frozen, chilled and ambient foods, complimented by fresh fish and meats to their customers throughout the Midlands, Oxfordshire and the South West.

Due to continual expansion, a vacancy has arisen for a highly motivated and articulate individual to work in their busy Credit Control Department located in Ilfracombe, reporting to the Credit Manager.

The Role (Duties and Responsibilities):
The role offers exposure to Manufacturing, Accountancy, Warehousing and Distribution and life in a fast moving sales based organisation, dealing with the Credit Control Administration and Ad Hoc projects where required.

- Prompt daily cash allocation and reconciliation.
- Posting of invoices and credit notes onto third party procurement portals.
- Assist with placing of customers on financial hold and the controlled releasing of stock.
- Providing support for credit controllers; telephoning customers and answering queries.
- Processing card payments received from customers.
- Production of credit notes.
- Daily scanning of customer invoices and delivery notes.
- To carry out other duties relevant to the role.

Skills required:
- Numerate, accurate with a good standard of English and Mathematics essential.
- Pleasant disposition and a good telephone manner.
- Flexible with good administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in use of MS Office (email, excel and word) and in the use of financial computer applications.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate a commitment to self-improvement, a team player with the ability to maintain good working relationships, both internally and externally.
- Experience in a similar role preferred.

Working hours:
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Saturday working required on a rotational basis in performance of the role as will overtime working, agreed at the discretion of the company.

Training and development:
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a six month probationary period, during which time they will be assessed on their performance, training and development needs. Support will also be provided to pursue qualifications relevant to the role on a reducing balance loan over 2 years.
