This leading specialist in the design and manufacture of Mechanical Seals and Support Systems is looking to recruit a Cost Analyst.

Work with local / group finance team to assist in implementing robust costing methodology and standardise reporting to drive margin & variance analysis across the Group.

The applicant must be able to drive the importance of product costing across the business to assist managers in making key strategic decision. This will include the review of current / new product costs and identifying material requirements. You will be expected to drive standardisation through documented processes and seek opportunities for process improvements. You will need to Invest time in understanding business process and areas for improvement by understanding what makes up production overheads

Job Dimensions:
1. Provide assistance in identifying and delivering cost reduction / margin enhancement projects to deliver measurable benefits.
2. Assist in executing business improvement opportunities / cost efficiencies to maximise key business performance measures
3. Assist in reviewing new product development proposals
4. Provide key costing information to assist in the assessment of a products commercial viability
5. Support the group management team in deploying the company’s strategic objectives, through providing top class management information and sounding board advice.

Person Specification:
No specific experience is required as full training will be required. A good standard of secondary education is required and preferably with A Level (or equivalent) in Maths or Physics, although this is not essential. You will need to have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

You must have a logical approach and strong organisation skills as well as being able to work well within a team as well as individually. If you have previous experience within a manufacturing company and a general understanding of how numbers can drive a business forward then this would be beneficial although not a requirement.
