They are a privately-owned company founded in 2008 and engaged in the development of stem cell and personalised medicine technologies. They have a strong R&D division which houses a multi-patent protected asset pipeline involving the commercialisation of biologics drug discovery, stem cell transfusion medicine applications and biomolecular diagnostics.

They are looking for Cord Blood Recruitment and Collection Technologists to join their team and play a key role in supporting the business to grow.

Based at Lewisham hospital (with some travel required within the M25 area) the job will require you:

- To recruit potential pregnant ambassador mothers for donation and storage of Umbilical and Placental cord blood, CORD Tissue and Placenta involving interview to obtain consent and medical history information, exercising good inter-personal skills and maintaining confidentiality of information.
- To collect cord blood for clinical banking and research purposes under supervision at a distance from the Clinical Lead (Training and Compliance Manager), performing a range of routine tasks.
- Ensure the efficient functioning of all aspects of retrieval to the required regulatory and accredited standards.
- Assist in developing the service in anticipation of future clinical or research needs working to set monthly targets for recruitment, collection and banking.
- Requirement to update donor recruitment and collection records written and/or electronic, to take receipt of and account for, incoming materials and organize storage, shipment of donations, samples and documentation to the relevant laboratory.
- To Promote the Benefits of Stem cells and their usage in an unbiased nature to gain informed consent for either Family banking or Donation.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

- Ideally educated to a degree level
- Holding a current Venipuncture certificate is essential
- Holding a current UK driving license is essential

Preferred skills

- Bilingual or multilingual with an ability to translate fluently from second language to English and vice versa to enable informed consent.
- Medical and obstetric terminology is an added advantage
- Presenting and Public Speaking skills are advantageous
