This company specialises in Unexploded Ordnance Risk Mitigation and the successful Contracts Manager will work to provide the client with the best value solution, and ensure all conditions of the contract are being met and there is efficient and effective utilisation of labour, materials, plant and equipment within the allocated budgets.

This role presents an exciting and unique opportunity for an enthusiastic Contracts Manager to join a fresh, fast growing company. You will join the Operations team, working closely with the Project Manager, which will require an individual to have a proactive approach and being a core member of the Operations team.

Key Objectives:
- Planning of projects, including the identification of technical requirements and solutions as well as identifying resource requirements and assets, ensuring commercial considerations and constraints are included in the overall planning process.
- The identification and allocation of suitably competent personnel for specific project roles, including overall project manning. Also providing continual man management of personnel.
- The provision of technical support and direction to all site supervisors and operatives throughout the duration of projects to ensure the works are carried out expediently, to the required standard, within the timeframe and within budget.
- Ensure the provision of project documentation; either by creating/writing the required documents or nominating another under their control and continue to control the quality of all issued documentation.
- Overseeing the procurement and management of suppliers; including the negotiation of cost/price, standards required, delivery of services and equipment.
- Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness, interpretation to support implementation.
- Ultimately ensure that each statutory compliance obligation is invariably met with regards to applicable plant and equipment
- Manage and monitor site activities and physical progress of work for site safety, quality and environmental responsibilities
- Ensure that a highly skilled and disciplined workforce is maintained within a safe system of work
- Initiate and implement an on-call duty roster to ensure the adequate response to emergency call-outs
- Engage, monitor and manage the deployment of appropriate and suitably qualified sub-contractors

Key Skills
- Previous experience within contract management
- Up to date relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- Confident oral and written communication skills
- Financial and commercial awareness
- Effectively manage time in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to negotiate and influence
- Mentor and support others and the ability to manage a team
