One of the fastest-growing international electric motor technology companies is looking for an experienced and talented Consultant Mechanical Engineer to join their UK Application Development team in their London, Oval offices.

With a reputation for innovative design and manufacturing solutions, they design and manufacture a comprehensive range of miniature DC vibration motors, gear motors, and brushless motor mechanisms. The company delivers complex engineering solutions to customers worldwide across a broad range of industries including Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Industrial, Medical and Aerospace.

As part of the Application Development team you will work with customers to assess feasibility, and design a range of solutions using either existing off-the-shelf products or developing custom solutions. Your technical aptitude and skills will be relied on to solve problems, and every day will be different. This will be a design focused consultancy role where you will be an integral part of supporting and winning exciting cutting edge technology projects with some of the best companies within the industry.

About the role:

- Providing existing customers with technical support and design services
- Developing specifications and proposals to specific customer requirements 
- Designing and developing bespoke mechanisms where off-the-shelf options won’t suffice
- Working with the design/development engineering team to help develop and prove new concepts and ideas
- Supporting customers in assessing and analysing any post-sales issues

About you:

- A solid background in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or robotics
- Specific CAD design skills such as Solidworks 3D modelling are essential
- Knowledge of DC motor driving, torque and positional control techniques would be highly advantageous, although not necessary
- High level of technical expertise to the role
- Ideally some consultancy experience
