Location: UK: Norfolk – Hull – Malton

Business: This company is a global Company providing meat and meat by-products for the human food chain, pet food, pharmaceutical and casings industries. Their HQ is located in Cuijk, Netherlands, with production facilities, cold stores and offices around the world. The Company’s UK operations are based in Norfolk (East Anglia), Hull (East Yorkshire) and Malton (North Yorkshire).

The Position

They are looking to recruit a Compliance professional, preferably with previous experience within the food manufacturing industry. The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel between sites for proper performance of their duties.

The role and responsibilities of the Compliance Officer will consist of, but will not be limited to;

- Development of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures including the ongoing development of Health and Safety management systems.
- Development of HACCP procedures in line with process requirements and ensuring ongoing conformance to agreed standards.
- Development of task-specific Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments.
- Undertaking accident and incident investigations, liaising with relevant authorises and ensuring all relevant documentation and re-training is completed.
- Monitor the production process to ensure conformance with critical safety parameters, instigating corrective action when required.
- Support external audits in respect of Health and Safety, environment and quality and liaising with external agencies.
- Performing regular internal audits against agreed systems to ensure compliance and completion of any required corrective actions.
- Provide Health and Safety advice, practical guidance and technical support.
- information and reports and attending meetings as necessary.

The Person

- Experience of working within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
- Full driving license
- Intermediate HACCP Principles holder
- NEEBOSH National General Certificate holder, or equivalent
- Commercially focused
- Innovative approach and positive attitude
- Good levels of written and verbal communication
- BRC internal auditor certification desirable but not essential
- Strong IT skills, with confidence in Microsoft packages; specifically Word and Excel.
- Ability to work autonomously and flexibly, as required.

Salary: circa £24,000 - 28,000 per annum, plus car allowance and benefits
