This company design, develop and manufacture underwater diving equipment. They now require a Company Accountant to join their small, friendly team based in Blackburn.

As a Company Accountant you will be responsible for the successful execution of all accounting functions within the Business. You will prepare monthly management, group and statutory reports and be responsible for financial compliance.

Duties to Include:

- Coordinates the Sales, Purchase, Payroll, Nominal Ledgers and Cashbook by processing financial documentation entering and leaving the Company.
- Administers and controls all bank accounts and on-line banking system including foreign currency hedging tools
- Oversees the calculations of the monthly general salaries and issues relating to PAYE and CSA. Completes online returns and year end processes.
- Oversees VAT, EEC and Intrastat returns and duty deferment information,
- Performs cost analysis and analytical reviews to ensure data accuracy and budget control
- Performs reporting requirements and month end procedures, calculating and posting journals to the Nominal ledger to strict deadlines.
- Performs inventory calculations and is responsible for the company’s product costing information
- Is responsible for Cashpooling forecasts and controls transactions with other UK group companies.
- Controls the company’s Fixed Asset register and calculates depreciation and disposals.
- Is responsible for the group Intercompany reconciliations and reporting
- Provides year-end audit work and support
- Is responsible for coordinating the company’s tax calculations and R&D claims processes
- Audits and Reviews compliance and business procedures and trouble shoots and leads Interdepartmental improvement projects
- Is part of the cost reduction team and assists all departments in their cost control and reduction programs
- Is a strong member of the Business System replacement team and takes a leading role in the implementation of new systems
- Gives guidance and support to the department and the internal business customers as a whole.

Skills and Experience:

- AAT & QBE (Essential)
- CIMA (Desirable)
- Significant all-round experience in an Accounting role at senior level
- Experienced in operating in a group environment
- Experienced in budgeting and analytical reviews.
- Experienced in financial reporting and KPI management
- Experienced in all aspects of HMRC compliance and reporting
- Experienced in leading change and CI programmes
- Experienced in System Implementation
- Experienced in Costing for Manufacturing
- Experienced in Lean Principles
- IT literate – Strong in all MS Products, Online banking tools and ERP systems, advanced Excel knowledge.
