£50,000 plus incentives

This leading manufacturer of Incineration Systems and Thermal Waste Treatment Solutions is a recent double winner of the Queens Award for International Trade. They are looking to recruit a Commercial Manager/Director Designate who will lead their commercial activities focused on building their brand and delivering strategic growth.

Reporting to the CEO and sitting as a member of the management board, the Commercial Manager must integrate effectively as a key member of a small and dynamic management team comprising sales, finance, operations and marketing. The successful candidate can expect to progress to Commercial Director in due course, by playing a key role in the significant expansion plans for the business.

Key Activities
- Develop marketing strategies for product, positioning, pricing and distribution to achieve targeted market penetration and long-term growth in global market share.
- Develop and implement marketing plans to drive and achieve annual profitability targets.
- Develop and manage marketing budgets and guide preparation of marketing activity reports for the executive management board.
- Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
- Initiate and evaluate market research activities and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Take a leading role in product research and development.
- Monitor competitor products and marketing activities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Guide global market channel development and distribution activity.
- Meet with key clients, assisting sales department in maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Assist other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
- Input to periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

Required Education and Experience

- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in marketing or business administration or equivalent.
- Significant hands on experience in a technical sales and marketing function.
- Ten years of relevant commercial management experience.
