Role and responsibilities
- Programmers & Setters / Operators for conventional lathe and mill with CNC capabilities.
- To manufacture a range prototypes, and prototype build tooling
- Programming, setting and operating a range of CNC machines#
- Experience using surface grinder, and a range of manual cutting and forming tools
- Producing components to fine tolerances and quality standards
- Ensuring manufactured parts are produced in the most efficient manner.
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet these standards
- Help develop junior machinist
Profile/Skills
- The ability to understand engineering drawings in terms of features, tolerances, surface finish etc. is essential
- Programming experience on Proto Trak and One CNC controls highly advantageous but not essential
- Methodical approach with good attention to detail
- Good problem solver
- Flexibility to adapt to different tasks
- Basic Word and Excel skills
- Have a ‘hands on’ and ‘can do’ attitude
- Be innovative, proactive and be able to provide alternative solutions to issues
