This well-established business within the Cloud Computing sector is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Manager.
An exciting opportunity has opened up as Manager of their Cloud Infrastructure team. This is a hands-on technical role, with the ideal candidate being responsible for all aspects of the Hosting Infrastructure in their growing Cloud Computing environment.
The role is to ensure the health, stability and capacity of the full cloud infrastructure, providing a technical lead as well as responsibility for operational tasks.
Summary
Overall technical ownership, with responsibility for all aspects of the Hosting IT infrastructure including:
- Vmware environment of 550 + Servers
- Microsoft Exchange email
- Citrix Farm, Netscaler and secure Gateway
- Capacity planning, to ensure sufficient storage, CPU, Rack space, Ram for 6 month period
- Ensure that all backups are working, replication is functioning, and the D/R site is operational.
- Monitoring of Systems for CPU, Ram and disk space utilisation during the day
- Providing monthly reports and Stats to management.
- Ensuring Firmware, and patches are applied as per the company’s procedures.
- Responsibility for technical disaster recovery platform
- 3rd line escalation point for complex issues that may be passed on from the service desk.
Key Skills:
The successful candidate will possess / demonstrate:
- Excellent and up to date technical skills and an ability and desire to pick-up new skills (Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, SANs, firewalls, networking etc.)
- A clear understanding of what constitutes an excellent IT service and the ability to direct and influence resources in order to deliver it
- A successful track record of delivering and managing a reliable technical infrastructure for a demanding user base
- The ability to present ideas and business propositions effectively to people at all levels of seniority within organisations
Essential Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 3 Years Experience in a similar role
- Citrix Netscaler Management / Installation + deployment
- Citrix Delivery controller, storefront and licensing management and deployment
- Citrix Xen Desktop Management / VDI
- Windows Server 2008r2 – 2016
- Exchange 2010 + 2016
- Microsoft AD 2008 - 2016
- Vmware vSphere 6.0 / 6.5
- TCPI/IP
Ideally you will have at least an MCSA in either 2012 or 2016, and a minimum of Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V)
Beneficial Technical Skills
The following would be beneficial, but are not a requirement of the role.
- Veeam backup
- Brocade fibre switches and zoning
- Junos O/S (Juniper SRX Firewalls)
Working hours: 9:00 – 17:30 PM Mon – Fri (37.5 hours) The company operates between 7am and 6pm, so a degree of flexibility is available.
Some weekend and evening working may be required for system maintenance and upgrades.
It is essential that you have a clean driving license and use of a car, as you will need to travel to their Data centres to perform parts of the role. (Mileage allowance is applicable)
