If you are an enthusiastic Programme Manager/Head of Projects with a strong commercial focus, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and a passion for implementing best practice, you could be interested in this role: a newly created position for a Change Programme Manager at a leading UK professional body.

The position offers considerable scope for shaping the function, implementing best practice in benefits realisation and driving forward project and change management methods and processes across the organisation. Experience of managing a project management team, programme and resource plans and budgets is a must. The primary focus of the change programme is digital projects, so experience of Prince 2 and Agile environments is essential.

The Change Programme Manager will lead the Change Programme’s activities and PMO function and will be instrumental in the delivery of key projects that are at the heart of the organisation’s strategy.

Primary objectives
- Control the delivery of the programme through supporting Project Managers, planning and prioritising resources required across the organisation, and managing the programme budget
- Lead the Change Programme team to ensure the benefits realisation and consistent quality of the project management of the projects that are being delivered within the Change Programme
- Line manage a team of permanent and contract Project Managers and a Projects Coordinator
- Manage the Programme Office, including governance and reporting for the programme
- Foster and implement best practices in project management, change management and benefits realisation across the organisation

Skills and experience
- As part of the Change Leadership team you will need:
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Strong programme and resource planning skills
- Ability to prioritise and resolve complex and competing challenges and priorities
- Ability to foster collaboration, influence working practices and support change at individual, team and organisational levels

To demonstrate these skills you will have the following:
- Significant experience of leading business change programmes supported by technology implementation
- Line management of a team of at least 5 direct reports in a complex, commercial environment
- Management of a PMO function or a team of project managers
- Track record of delivering projects across multiple workstreams in a matrix organisation
- Experience of setting up a benefits management function would be an advantage
