A family run business that has 30 year’s experience supporting adults with Learning Difficulties. They require a dedicated and committed person with a wealth of experience in the care industry to join their vibrant team at their care home in Reading.

Main Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for allocation of roles and tasks within the home and to maintain its effective operation at all times whilst maximising available resources; this will require the Manager to participate in an average of 1 shift per week
- To undertake the effective management and administration of the home, to comply with budgetary control systems to maintain these systems and keep within cash limited budgets. To be responsible for budgetary control in your designated home
- With the Office Manager, to be involved in budgetary estimates to ensure the allocated budget account is accurate and expenditure is accurately receipted and recorded
- To have overall responsibility for a balanced and efficient staffing rota and the fair distribution of overtime when available
- To ensure that staff hours worked and annual leave are adequately and accurately recorded, and to ensure that correct information is passed to the HR department at due time to enable monthly staff wages to be paid
- To work with the Operations Manager and the Management Team to monitor staff performance and absenteeism and work positively to maintain high standards of both
- To work with the Operations Manager disseminating information on staff performance appraisals
- To be involved in all aspects of recruitment and appointment of staff at the home with the Company’s Equal Opportunities Policy
- To be responsible for the delegation of, arranging and chairing regular staff meetings with preparation and distribution of minutes
- To be responsible for the delegation of arranging and chairing regular service user group meetings with preparation and distribution of minutes
- To be responsible for chairing regular service user reviews and the preparation of reports
- To provide written reports as required
- To be responsible for ensuring that the home is kept in a clean, tidy and well maintained condition, and that repairs, linen and furnishings are of an acceptable standard
- To be responsible for ensuring fire drills and fire testing are carried out and recorded
- To ensure Health and Safety at Work Act responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Company procedures
- To liaise effectively and appropriately with the Operations Manager and other relevant professional agencies
- To liaise and regularly attend the meetings of the Home Management Team and the monthly Management meetings.

As you will be working within the homes of vulnerable adults who can exhibit challenging behaviour, you are required to attend specific training (MAPA), which the company will provide. The successful candidates will also need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
