This leading European supplier of technical textile threads to the Automotive Supply Chain, is now looking for a Canteen Cook.

About the job
This is a standalone role and as the Canteen Cook you will take ownership of the daily running of the canteen services including preparation and serving breakfast and lunch meals, maintaining food hygiene regulations at all times. Ensuring that food orders are submitted and delivered in a timely manner.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Provide great service to their staff and visitors. They expect a friendly, customer-focused approach.
- Plan and produce great quality meals, making the best of the produce available. Promoting the range of food available to customers.
- Preparing and Serving buffet food for functions as required.
- Lead cost control in the canteen by avoiding waste, maintaining sensible portion control and ensuring that the ordering, use and storage of ingredients is always carried out economically.
- Ensure excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire food chain, including HACCP requirements records.
- Adhere to H&S procedures. Ensure you are aware of your own responsibilities in line with this and consider the safety of those around you.
- To ensure all areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition for customers, setting up and cleaning down of the canteen according to food hygiene regulations and best practice.
- Be flexible in your roles and responsibilities. Use your initiative, challenge the status quo and come up with ideas on how things can be done better or more effectively.
- Attend staff meetings and training where appropriate.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.

What they are looking for:
- Basic Food Safety Certificate
- Passion for cooking
- Attention to detail
- Approachable and a clear communicator, responsive to ideas and concerns with an ability to take ownership of the full service offered by the canteen..
- Enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable, demonstrating a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Able to keep a positive attitude and be friendly at all times
- Innovative and creative, able to create tasty, balanced, seasonal meals and adapt menus
- Understanding of good kitchen economics; avoiding waste, portion control, managing costs.
- Ideally all relevant food hygiene and H&S qualifications.
- Ideally experience of a standalone kitchen role
- Experience of catering for around 30-50 people.

What's on Offer
Working 35 Hours per week Monday to Friday 07:00 – 14:30
Up to £16,500 DOE + Onsite Parking + Pension Plan + 33 days Holiday + annual bonus
