This furniture maker is looking to recruit a CAD Technician / CNC Programmer.

Job Purpose: Preparing Drawings & CNC Programs:

- Producing detailed production drawings
- Programming for 3-axis CNC machine
- Preparing drawings for external contractors

Summary:

The CAD Technician & CNC Programer will be responsibility for taking approved client drawings and detailing them for production, installation and for external contractors/suppliers. In addition to drawings, they will also be responsible for breaking components down and programming for their in-house 3-axis CNC machine. This person will work under the guidance and management of the Project Managers as well as working closely with the Production Manager.

Job Role:

The job is based in Penn Street, between High Wycombe and Amersham. You will need to have your own transport to get to work.

Typically working from approved client drawings, prepared by the Project Managers, the CAD Technician will produce detailed 2D drawings for use in production, site installation and for various sub-contractors. These drawings will include:

- CNC Layouts
- Programs for their in-house 3-axis CNC machine
- Detailed production drawings
- Detailed drawings for sub-contracted components
- Drawings for site installation

In addition, from time-to-time, the CAD Technician will also work directly with the pre-contracts team to produce drawings for clients prior to a sale. They may also be required to support the Project Managers with client approval drawings.

The CAD Technician will also work with the Production Manager and team to make continuous improvement to production drawings both to increase efficiency develop the use of the CNC machine.

Required Skills/Experience:

- Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drafting and annotating
- Experience in programming for CNC
- Minimum 3 years experience within the furniture/joinery industry
- Good knowledge of furniture and joinery construction method
- Ability to keep and maintain good quality records and follow procedures
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Positive attitude to problem-solving and continuous improvement
