This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing innovation management consultancy specialising in the commercialisation of science, engineering and technology. They provide leading innovation management consultancy providing proof-of-market research, product-service commercialisation and market-oriented due diligence services for science, engineering and technology firms. stakeholders.

The company is a delivery partner of Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). The network is a key instrument in the EU's strategy to boost growth and jobs. The network brings together around 600 business support organisations from more than 50 countries.

A highly motivated and dynamic individual is sought to identify and support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) based in the North of England. Working with each company, the advisor will analyse existing innovation management capabilities and barriers, then broker and/or deliver an action plan that significantly improves the client’s innovation systems and practices leading to increased business success.

The successful candidate is likely to have a degree (or equivalent), have good working knowledge of innovation and experience in the commercial sector at a senior level and/or in the provision of business support.

Responsibilities will include:
- Generating leads and identifying innovative businesses with significant growth potential
- Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Account managing a portfolio of clients
- Using holistic analysis tools to review and diagnose client needs and provide tailored support
- Negotiating and closing deals with organisations of all sizes
- Managing client engagements on a technical, legal and commercial basis
- Keeping up to date on the local, regional, national and international sources of business support

Knowledge and experience:
- Educated to degree level and/or equivalent professional qualification
- +5 years’ business development experience within a professional services environment
- Well networked with a good understanding of the local business support infrastructure.
- Independent self-starter who is highly motivated, with a high level of interpersonal and presentation skills
