This company is a dynamic privately held manufacturing business in Walthamstow. They are a niche manufacturing business making products from mica, a naturally occurring mineral and have done so at the current location since 1912. Over 80% of its products are exported to a diverse range of industries.

They are looking for an individual with great communication skills and a solid business mind combined with the drive to succeed.

As a business development manager in the company, you’ll be concerned with improving and growing the business through fostering and developing relationships with new and existing customers and other partners on a B2B basis. Your work will improve profitability through following the strategy, planning and positioning in the appropriate markets. In exchange, they offer £ 32 000 - 36 000 annually plus OTE and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities:
As a business development manager in the company, you’ll need to:

- Identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services
- Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation
- Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
- Meet with customers/clients face to face or over phone/WebEx
- Understand the needs of their customers/industry and be able to respond efficiently with a plan on how to meet these
- Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
- Work strategically – carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
- Have a good understanding of the business, products or services and be able to advise others about them.
- Seek ways of improving the way the business development and sales dept operates
- Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
- Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world

Requirements of the role:

- Proven results in business development and used to work against targets
- Proven track record in sales, business development and winning new business
- Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads and contacts
- Show an understanding of the challenges facing the industry at present and illustrate a knowledge if the operational attention to detail that will be required to succeed within the industry.
- Additional language skill is an advantage.
