Business Development Co-ordinator

Chester / Deeside

c£21-22K basic + bonus and benefits

The company is a growing and successful technical services business, specialising in essential specialist cleaning and inspection services for the Oil & Gas sector, as well as the design and manufacture of leading edge equipment.

Innovation is at the heart of the business and they are committed to an on-going programme of Research & Development. Additional growth has created this exciting opportunity to join the commercial team to ensure that there is a proactive approach to developing new business opportunities and that all sales enquiries are dealt with and managed promptly and efficiently.

This role is internally based at their offices near Chester, although due to the international nature of the business, some travel to meet clients and attend trade exhibitions overseas will be required.

The role will include the following responsibilities:

- Reporting to the Commercial Manager
- Supporting the business to create and proactively follow up on new sales opportunities
- Working with their external marketing company to generate new business leads using various channels - social media (LinkedIn & Twitter principally), blog and tracking website traffic and data (Lead Forensics)
- Updating the CRM system (Gold-Vision) with new leads and relevant contacts and database cleansing during quieter periods
- Reviewing tender documentation, preparing quotations and submission packs
- Developing an understanding of their overall products / services
- Creating sales presentations for the Commercial Manager
- Contacting prospective and existing customers to establish current requirements
- Answering incoming calls and dealing with them appropriately

Applicants should have the following aptitudes /characteristics -

- 2+ years’ experience in a sales office environment, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial organisation
- Willing to learn about their products, with the aptitude to understand some of their basic technical characteristics
- Used to working with CRM systems and Social Media platforms
- Proactive in terms of lead generation and seeking out and following up on new sales opportunities / enquiries
- Can demonstrate initiative and an ability to work things out, deal with issues and solve problems
- High level of personal self-motivation
- Good communication skills particularly with prospective customers
- Good understanding of IT applications and / or learns quickly
- Methodical, diligent, structured, well organised
- Adaptable
