A Finance Business Controller Opportunity has become available for an up and coming qualified accountant. The role will sit am engineering business which have successfully grown their business through organic growth and new contract wins. Based in the centre of Aylesbury you will join a small business with big personality where you will be involved in the entire business operation.
Your new role
As the Finance Business Controller you will be a key business partner to the MD as you support him in making key business decisions. Looking after a team of 3 you will have responsibility for the production of the month end management board pack including production of the P&L and commentary. You will also look after the financial accounting including VAT, Tax and statutory accounting.
Following the production of these numbers, you will use this these to support the business looking forecasting as you conduct the budgeting and forecasting. This will guide the business in key business decisions and supporting the business growth. You will do this by developing key relationships with sales and operations as you will set them targets around sales and margins.
This role will also include additional company secretary responsibilities including property management and negotiating rates for various insurances and overheads. You will also take a lead with any legal responsibilities with the support of their external solicitors.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will be an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with 3 years post qualified experience. You will have full knowledge and experience in month end accounting and you will be able conduct financial analysis and commercial finance support. You will also need to have the confidence to present to senior management and be able to challenge the MD when advising.
