This UK residential lettings agent and property management company is looking for an experienced and fully qualified Building Surveyor to plan and supervise a wide range of small to large scale residential construction projects across the North of England. In this role you will organise and asses the viability of development projects which would include the below responsibilities.
The successful applicant will be a team player with knowledge of current building acts and regulations and will report straight to the directors. You must have a recognised surveying qualification and a full driver’s licence.
Responsibilities
- Assessing market conditions and marketability of the end product
- Assessing current planning applications and conditions
- Reviewing suitability for obtaining planning consent to include appointing and liaising with consultants to procure through planning stages
- Reviewing legal title of any said land/buildings and referring/liaising any potential issues to their legal team
- Undertaking site/building surveys to establish suitability for construction and highlighting any potential issues
- Monitoring the deterioration or defects of a property and offering advice on repair work
- Writing technical reports

- High standard of customer service
- Competence in all aspects of building surveying, including construction standards, building law and regulations
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Self-motivated with good initiative
- Good communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- IT skills, including knowledge of industry-specific software
