This company is in search of a Building Surveyor, with a focus on Supported Living sector, to join the commercial team in their West London office. Due to their growth, a new position has risen to act as liaison between contractor, local authorities, surveyors.

In this capacity, the candidate will have exposure to the full range of development responsibilities. As a Building Surveyor you will advise on the restoration, maintenance and development of a range of build types including supported living. Equally, the surveyor will be responsible for setting up the initial commercial plan and strategy for new developments. You will have a thorough technical knowledge.

The main role is to make sure all transaction works smoothly without problems and delays. The successful candidate will be checking budgets, schedule of works, analyse and compile reports as part of pre-acquisition and due diligence stage.

Key responsibilities and main tasks
- Preferably a specialist in Supported Living sector, or within Social Housing sector in the UK. Advising on schemes and projects and determining requirements
- Ensuring projects are completed on budget and time. Determining the condition of existing buildings, identifying defects, and proposing repair strategies, liaising with external surveyors.
- Implementing and developing robust and bespoke business process across the organisation
- Accurate assessment of risks and opportunities in acquisition (cost / planning), suitability of new sites for development (must be able to quickly assess condition of existing buildings prior to purchase, identify refurb / development challenges and opportunities for new builds considering planning constrains).
- Prepare the delivery cost for development appraisal (must be able to comment and validate costs provided by external QS consultants). Have the know-how and experience from past projects to develop reasonable timelines specific to each property site, considering planning approval constrains and assessment of delivery durations. The Surveyor will set targets and strategy to develop each project to our client's standards, concluded with a written report of suitability of acquisition to make profit.
- The surveyor will be responsible for driving the construction tender process, preparation of employee requirements and structuring of JCT contracts at usually tight time frames. Equally, you must be able to read, understand, assess and challenge all aspects of delivery and construction process.
- Production of cash flow statements to ensure that budgets and targets are being monitored and realised. Monitor expected targets of profit and costs. Coordination and leading of Project and Build contracts
- Good IT skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and use of Internet to obtain technical information and communication with others

Key Skills / Experience

Requirements.
- MRICS accreditation
- No less than 5 years' experience
- IT literate with focus on Microsoft Office and MS Project
