This Bristol based contemporary & design-led publisher of cards and gifts is looking for a full time Bookkeeper to join their team in Stokes Croft asap.
Line Manager: Managing Director, with support provided by the Finance Director (a part-time role).
Job purpose
- Processing financial data to ensure the company has up to date, complete and accurate accounting records.
- Managing the cash position of the company by managing the relationship with customers and suppliers in the best interests of the business.
- Supporting the Managing and Finance Director in the financial management of the business.
Responsible for
- Up to date, complete and accurate accounting records by posting transactions into the sales ledger, purchase ledger, cashbook and nominal ledger.
- Customer credit control and supplier payment management, including account reconciliations.
- Timely bank reconciliations and processing of bank transactions.
- Timely sales invoicing and credit processing.
- Processing employee expense claims.
- Processing monthly payroll.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Assisting the Finance Director in preparing the monthly management accounts, including preparing and posting accrual and prepayment journals.
- Supporting the Managing and Finance Director.
Success looks like
- Financial data is complete, accurate and up to date.
- Financial processes are robust and working well.
- HMRC and other filing deadlines are met.
- All queries relating to financial transactions and cash management are answered quickly.
Experience and skills needed
- At least five years bookkeeping experience.
- Confident in using Sage to its full potential.
- Ideally AAT level 4 qualified.
