An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our organisation in delivering the Department of International Trade (DIT) contract for Yorkshire and the Humber as a Lead Generator/Researcher.

They are now looking for a Lead Generator/Researcher to support the achievement of DIT and EGS export targets by proactively generating business leads for the organisation with businesses who have export potential or are considering export as a growth strategy, as well as established businesses seeking support to help them sustain or increase their export activity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver results in a sales oriented environment, and contribute to key team performance targets;
- Undertake research and proactively generate qualified business leads;
- Manage lead development;
- Identify and qualify customer needs;
- Build rapport with customers through evidencing passion about DIT service;
- Develop a thorough knowledge of the DIT International Trade offer and services and market organisational services in order to support the achievement of DIT objectives;
- Collaborate closely with the marketing department to enhance operational efficiency and engender client retention;
- Undertake with clients a preliminary analysis of information and development needs through an interrogative export diagnostic on a pro-active outbound basis;
- Ensure that all customer information and interactions are captured and recorded on DIT’s CRM (CDMS) and Contact Centre systems;
- Serve clients and record activity in a timely manner;
- Undertake professional development and accreditations as required;
- Attend and participate in events away from the office as required by the management team in support of business objectives.

You will have experience working within a sales office environment (preferably telesales) and providing telephone-based business support, prior experience of B2B sales, and experience working in a busy and demanding working environment. You will demonstrate broad understanding of business operations and international trade and awareness of aspects of external support available.

You will have comprehensive and practical understanding of the needs and dynamics of new and established SMEs. Experience using CRM and other data entry systems is desirable. You will be a team player and self-starter, excited about working against challenging targets and timeframes and the ability to diplomatically, competently and effectively engage people at all levels.

This role is subject to Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) pre-employment screening.
