Food supplement manufacturer based in west Wales are looking for an Assistant Production Manager to join their rapidly growing company. With the primary focus to manage the floor, ensuring staff are focused, motivated and assigned to the correct task.

The Role:

- Responsible for the execution of the Health and Safety Policy, ensuring all control measures are in place to create a safe working environment.
- Ensuring all PPE requirements are adhered to.
- Produce necessary production entries and supporting information on the production system (Sage).
- Ensure company standards are briefed to shift.
- Ensure standards are maintained at agreed levels for hygiene procedures, quality, operating procedures and health and safety.
- Create and deliver training programs for new starters and existing staff.
- Lead and motivate all staff.
- Communicate and conduct regular meetings with staff.
- Ensure start up checks are completed for each machine prior to use.
- Record / monitor utilisation and make recommendations to increase equipment efficiency/effectiveness.
- Operation and trouble shooting of the majority of the manufacturing equipment and processes
- Where faults are found ensure the initial fault finding occurs in order to advise the Production Manager of any remedial action required.
- Sign off shift paperwork, ensuring accuracy of data recorded.
- Supporting the production manager with ad hoc duties.

The Person:

- Previous Management/Supervisory experience.
- Formal training in Health and Safety is also desirable.
- Experience in food industry would be desirable.
- Experienced and good knowledge of batch control, stock control and management.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and experience using Sage desirable.
