This company is looking to recruit an Assistant Production Manager to deputize for the Department Manager in his/her absence and assist with the smooth day to day running of the department. To ensure that the cleanliness of the prep room is maintained at all times and the product is produced in accordance with Company Policies.

Hours:
5 day rotating shift
42.5 Hours per week 2pm to 11pm to be flexible to meet the business needs across 24 hour operation

Daily Tasks:
- To comply with Company Core Values
- Ensure all produce is packaged and labelled correctly with all legal requirements and stores correctly in accordance with the Food Safety Act 1990
- Assist the Department Manager in the day to day running of the department including that all targets are met daily and labour planning
- Complete any Accreditation paperwork according to schedules, Traceability, Glass audits, ext. Action any finding that have been recorded on the Hygiene audit.
- Attend departmental/company meetings that are required of you
- Ensure all orders are processed and picked ready for dispatch
- HACCP control measures are adhered to and all paperwork kept up together(inc. internal audits)
- Ensure that all produce is prepared within the company specification and is in an acceptable specification for the customer’s requirements
- Ensuring compliance with all internal procedures, site processes and external bodies including enforcement agencies and auditory bodies
- To help any General Assistants that may require extra assistance with their duties
- Assist the Production Manager with identifying any changes to the Training Manual and roll out any training to staff
- Assist with the training of new members of the team

Work experience requirements:
- Previous experience working in a production environment
- Previous Fresh Produce experience
- Working knowledge of BRC Global Standards

Skills:
- Physically fit
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team
- Excellent communication skills
- To be able to work to tight deadlines

Education:
- Full GB Driving Licence with a maximum of 3 penalty points
- Understanding of Microsoft outlook, word and excel
- Higher level of secondary education
