A small to medium sized plant which forms a part of a large global organization is looking for an experienced Assistant Logistics and Transportation Coordinator to join their Stowmarket team on 12 months fix term contract.

The successful candidate will be required to:
- Plan and schedule of shipments to customers and the arrangement of suitable transportation consistent with the customers’ delivery requirements and productions schedules for accepted orders.
- Monitor Toll requirements and release of material as required. Processing via SAP.
- Contact vendors/carriers to obtain information concerning availability and delivery date. Recommend or schedules shipment within limits of delegated authority.
- Coordinate documentation required for shipments to customer, including certificates of analysis.
- Coordinate daily shipments of finished goods from site to warehouse (outside SAP).
- Maintain close communication with production, site planner, administrative and laboratory departments to coordinate activities. Internal contacts with sales and transportation departments in sister companies.
- If an order is not acceptable in any detail with regards to shipping, takes the necessary steps with the Sales Manager and/or CSR to amend the order.
- Provide administrative support to the Department including REACH. Handles vendor complaints, works with expeditors and assists with end of month reporting.
- Enter data into SAP to maintain records such as on-time delivery.

Essential requirements:
- Minimum one (1) year of related experience within a similar industry or logistics.
- Knowledge of shipping administration
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, methods and forms, billing of lading, air bills and other related documents.
- Experience using SAP would be an advantage.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office.
- Education minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent, alternatively relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
