Assistant Housing & Support Officer (Swindon)
Competitive salary

Full time posts are 40 hours per week, however, part-time working hours will be considered

This Community Interest Company is looking for people with a supportive, caring and highly professional attitude to provide low-medium support and housing management duties to single people living in shared housing in the Swindon area.

For this role, previous experience within the field of housing and/or support is not essential.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills that complement their strong desire to make a positive difference to someone's life, with a flexible approach to work, as well as being able to deal calmly with people who present challenging behaviour.

An ability to work on your own initiative as well as working well as part of a team is necessary.

Duties include:
- Work as a cohesive team to achieve the performance and quality of service required in the department
- Ensure that accurate void records are kept for each property
- Provide a housing management and support service to clients/residents
- Ensure that positive support plan outcomes are consistently achieved
- Ensure that the reasonable service demands of clients/residents are met quickly and effectively
- Ensure that clients/residents apply for housing benefit and or personal benefits where eligible to maximise income
- Take appropriate and timely action to deal with any breaches of licence agreements/tenancies and other contracts
- Liaise with the Maintenance and Property Standards Team to ensure that the appearance and health and safety of the Company’s properties are maintained to the highest standards
- Ensure that clients/residents are kept fully informed of changes and developments via meetings, letters, newsletters, notices and personal contact
- Ensure that accurate records are kept
- Ensure clients/residents needs are at the forefront of service provision and seek participation from them in service developments
- Attend meetings with clients/residents, including evening meetings as necessary
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with local authorities, adult social care, probation, health services and other statutory agencies

You will be required to cover evenings and weekends on the on-call rota system

Enhanced DBS check required

A valid driving licence and use of a vehicle for work is essential

Remuneration packages commensurate with level of experience
