An Assistant General Manager is required to join a successful valve manufacturing company,

Assistant General Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Obtains profit contribution by managing staff; establishing and accomplishing business objectives and reports to General Manager.
- Helps to develop strategic planning by studying technological and financial opportunities and reports defeciencies.
- Presents assumptions; recommending objectives. Accomplishes subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; suggesting mid-course corrections.

Purpose:
- To learn all aspects of the business from the present incumbent ready for an eventual takeover of General Manager Position.
- Lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets for customer satisfactions
- Full accountability for ensuring safety, customer quality, cost and delivery requirements are met.
- Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Manage the team on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading teams.
- Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
Relationship Management.
- Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained
- Liaise and communicate with all departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers.

Ideal Skills and Qualifications:
Design. Performance Management, Staffing, Management Proficiency, Coordination, Coaching, Developing Standards, Financial Planning and Strategy, Process Improvement, Decision Making, Strategic Planning, Quality Management.

Experience
- CAD abilities and good understanding of Valve manufacturing/ foundry practices would be ideal.
- Relevant manufacturing / engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
- Experience of managing Profit & Loss responsibilities for manufacturing
- Understanding of ISO 9001 2015, IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 14001
- Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members
- Excellent leadership and man-management skills
