Assistant Care Co-ordinator
20 hours - 8.30am to 1pm
Salary £21k Pro Rata

This well-respected charities Outreach service offers a high level of expert Care at Home, across the city. Providing care, support and friendship to the over 50’s. Combating loneliness and supporting clients who have dementia. Their ethos is to provide expert care, where 2 hours is the minimum service that they offer.

About the Role

The Assistant Co-ordinator will work alongside the Outreach Co-ordinator and is a key role within the day to day management of the care provided.

They are looking for an individual with integrity, passion, commitment, professionalism and enthusiasm to join their team.

The position will be based in Edinburgh, however as care is provided throughout Edinburgh, a flexible approach is required.

Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high quality person centred care: promoting social, physical, emotional and intellectual wellbeing.
- Attention to detail is essential and an ability to guide the service through development and improvement.
- You will have an excellent career record in the care sector, and will have the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Meet best practice standards of service delivery.
- Deputise for the Outreach Co-ordinator.

Key Responsibilities

- Helping to manage their scheduling system for both staff and clients. To implement rotas and to ensure effective service delivery is maintained.
- Liaise closely with the Registered Manager and Outreach Co-ordinator in planning, and organising supervisions and arranging care reviews and risk assessments.
- Assisting in the day - to - day operation of the Outreach service, scheduling visits, managing enquiries and covering staff holidays and sickness.
- Liaise with partner organisations in respect of delivering a holistic approach.
- To work to and assist in implementing their policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain clear written and electronic records and to follow statutory reporting procedures.

Management of Staff

- Provide leadership, support and guidance to the team using effective supervision, and appraisal meetings.
- To assist the Co-ordinator with handovers when required.
- To monitor the performance of staff.

Administration

- To attend Management team meetings.
- To lead team meetings as appropriate.

Successful Candidate

- Would be of benefit to have supervisory experience in a health and social care setting, ideally working with older people.
- Exceptional leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent administrative skills and computer literacy.
- The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator and a methodical planner.
- Be able to work well as part of a team and to work on their own initiative.
- Qualified to SVQ 3 level and PDA in supervision or willing to work towards.
- Full UK drivers licence.
