An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team. The post holder will be responsible for cashiering, intra-group accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed assets accounting, analysis of data, and providing support to the Group Finance Team.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Cashiering: downloading and posting bank receipts, allocating customer payments to invoices, reconciling bank accounts
- Invoicing: Create and send sales invoices to customers; import invoices from external sources to the finance system
- Supporting month end tasks including the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations; processing and reconciliation of intra-group accounts; preparation of ad hoc reports
- Gathering relevant information to resolve a problem or issue
- Organising tasks to ensure work meets department deadlines
- Acting in accordance with group policies and procedures
- Sharing relevant information with others across the group and providing support to the wider finance team, when required

Essential skills:

- Proficient in Excel (Intermediate level)
- Excellent communication skills and experience of liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Experience of handling customer queries in an efficient and prompt manner
- Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and adopts a methodical approach to completing tasks
- Good time management skills and workload prioritisation are essential to meet deadlines
- Strong numerical skills with experience of handling financial transactions accurately
- A team player who is enthusiastic about developing knowledge and skills within accountancy

Desirable skills:

- AAT Qualification (Part/Fully qualified)
- Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles
- Exposure to fundamental accounting routines
- Some experience of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Some experience of accounting software and databases
