They have a vacancy for an Assistant Accountant to work in their Finance Department.

Reporting to the Chief Accountant the successful candidate will provide financial and accounting support and advice to the UK based finance team; the China Office team as well as other business areas. The job holder will take overall responsibility for maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts; VAT, Intrastrat and ECSL reporting; and managing currency accounts and revaluations. The role will also require an active involvement in the monthly payroll administration process, and ownership of the member subscription renewal process. Other responsibilities will include monitoring of capital approvals and expenditure; including budget reconciliation and the asset register.

The Assistant Accountant role will take on the designated Deputy role for the Chief Accountant in their absence which will include the preparation of management accounts and forecasts.

Candidates must have proven multi-discipline accounts department experience including involvement in the production of monthly management accounts. Preferably AAT qualified (or equivalent), the successful candidate will demonstrate their abilities as a team player, capable of developing others in order to strengthen the overall departmental skills matrix. Strong Excel skills are a prerequisite of the position. An understanding of the consolidation of accounts and some experience of accounting for foreign currency transactions would also be desirable characteristics.
