Established in 1967 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, this company remains a family owned and run company, and one of the UK's leading independent vending and service suppliers.

They are looking for an apprentice mechanical and electrical engineer to work within a team of experts on hot drinks and chilled food systems. The main focus within their workshop is the preparation of all hot drinks, snack and can machines, water coolers and trolleys – both new and refurbished – for installation into customer premises.

They are a family run business established over 50 years ago and are proud of their approach to staff. They strongly believe in attracting and developing new talent into their business and provide you with the scope to accelerate and identify your potential.

The job includes:

- Full refurbishment of vending equipment
- Safely stripping down machines
- Testing components and fault finding
- Ordering new components from stores
- Full re-build to industry standards
- Carry out PAT testing and issue certificates
- Administration of paperwork will be involved

This role is full-time and is 40 hours per week, based on a 8.30am to 5:00pm day with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

Your pay will be in line with the National Minimum Wage. Your performance and pay will be reviewed as your skills develop.

To be a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Apprentice you should have:

- basic IT knowledge
- the desire to become a competent engineer
- a good level of written accuracy and attention to detail
- the ability to demonstrate a mechanical or electrical aptitude (in hobbies or interests outside school)
- good communication skills
- Some type of work experience

You should be able to demonstrate that you are:

- willing to learn and develop
- self-motivated
- committed
- well presented
- punctual

What they offer:

- ‘on the job’ learning where you will be monitored by an assessor regularly
- Day release at Bradford College
- Qualification - NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering
- 21 days holiday per year rising to 24 with length of service (pro-rata and in addition to statutory entitlement)

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship a permanent job will be available.
