This company specialises in helping schools/nurseries to develop their outdoor learning environments. They are a modern, exciting and fast-growing business in North Bristol. They take a consultative approach to working with their customers to provide curriculum based outdoor play solutions.

They have worked hard to build a fantastic team and they truly believe in a hardworking and an enjoyable workplace. Their ‘Rules of Play’ ensure they respect one another, feeling empowered to develop to their full potential. They have two successful Apprentice Designers and one full time member who has completed their scheme.

Their office is located by Cribbs Causeway, within the beautiful Wild Place (Bristol Zoo) grounds which they have free access to. They have recently had baby giraffes join the centre after a £1.1m development.

What the job entails?
The role is to work as an Apprentice Designer whilst working towards your L2 NVQ Diploma in Design Support. In a nut shell your role will be the 3D visualisation and presentation of playground plans using Vectorworks (CAD) and the Adobe suite.

You will be fully supported with the appropriate training given to deliver the following:
- The preparation of plans, from hand drawn copy to stunning 2D/3D visual presentations.
- Ensuring designs conform to the required safety standards (BS EN 1176/1177 – training given)
- To work confidently within the Design team, liaising with Operations & Sales to ensure projects are completed on time.
- To prepare project files to be uploaded to their CRM system, and complete associated administrative work.

Ultimately, they are looking for a team player and who is a confident communicator and proactive in their approach to work. They would love someone who enjoys getting involved in all aspects and a keen learner.

There are no formal qualification requirements to apply for this job, however, a GCSE in Art & Design or experience in a creative role would help you, along with a relevant portfolio.

They need someone who can manage their own time to complete the online college course, whilst working full time. You will be required to log into a weekly conference call and attend a termly, one day, college workshop.

Before a job offer, the college will ask you to complete an assessment in basic Maths, English & ICT.

What they can offer?
In return for all your hard work you will be paid £3.50 per hour in line with the Government Apprenticeship requirements. After 6 months, you will be eligible for the company bonus. You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday, 8:30–17:00 with an unpaid 1-hr break. They are flexible on working times. You will have 32 days of paid holiday.

On successful completion you will achieve your L2 NVQ Diploma in Design Support. You can then progress to L3 and receive a pay rise. Ultimately it may lead to a permanent job for the right person.
