An ideal opportunity has arisen for an experienced administration officer to join a not for profit union for education, early years & childcare professionals on a part-time basis. This post is to support the existing team by providing general administrative support.

Competitive annual salary, dependent upon experience, commencing at £13,439 p.a. up to £17,278 based on a 35-hour week. The pro-rata salary ranges from £9,599.29 to £12,341.43 p.a. Additional benefits include contributory pension scheme and simply health scheme (paid for by the organisation).

This role is based in the Edinburgh Office, with requirement to attend off site events as they arise.

This role is –
- To provide admin support including co-ordination of diaries, document production, note-taking and dealing with correspondence and office organization.
- Preparation of agendas and supporting paperwork for meetings, whilst attending and taking the minutes
- Receiving and dealing with calls and meeting visitors at the office
- Recording information on the bespoke membership database, scanning documentation and manual systems
- Co-ordination of student and probationer recruitment events and other training events
- Provision of feedback reports following events

The successful applicant will possess –
- Good communication skills with experience of dealing with customer enquiries and external parties
- Confidence with ability to proactively develop and maintain relationships with external parties
- Experience of working within a team and providing support for more than one individual
- Good experience of leading in office administration systems and procedures.
- Excellent working knowledge of IT packages (word, excel, outlook diary management and databases), along with standard layouts for reports, minutes and general correspondence
- Accurate typing, attention to detail, data entry and minute taking skills
- An organized and proactive approach to managing time critical tasks and prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
- Ability to work without supervision and on own initiative
- Willingness to attend offsite events and onsite events, at times on a Saturday, to provide support or to attend training.

The successful candidate will ideally possess –
- Experience of working in a membership organization, service or public-sector environment or similar
