This company has formed unique partnerships in order to provide a complete additive manufacturing solution to precious metals industry including jewellery, watch, industrial clients, partners and appropriate academic institutions. They require an AM Research and Development Technician to join a team of four to develop their AM equipment to its full potential.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:
- To work with clients, system manufacturers and the commercial teams to satisfy the AM business strategy.
- To develop material parameter sets in a variety of metal AM systems in precious metal alloys and less non-precious metal alloys, using a variety of software such as Materialise Magics, EOSPRINT and AM system parameter editors.
- To establish, develop and implement a formal trial programme for process variables and review and evaluate the results of the build.
- Support development and production of gas atomised powders for AM and other industrial applications.
- To provide support for the AM bureau service and advanced precious metal powder preparation.
- To provide technical advice to customers and other project stakeholders.
- Attend exhibitions and trade shows overseas.

The successful candidate will have:
- A Degree level qualification in Engineering or Science-related
- Expertise in additive manufacturing and/or powder metallurgy
- Experience in an Engineering / similar role (1-2 years)
- Have a strong attention to detail
- Be passionate and offer an enthusiastic can do attitude
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work to meet demands set by the department, company or external customer
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective team working skills
- Ability to use initiative for independent work

In return, they will provide you with on the job training, guidance and the support you need to build on your existing expertise.

Hours of work:
Total 37.5 hours per week, working a pattern of Monday to Thursday 0800-1615, Friday 0800-1500 with a 30 minute lunch break each day.
