This Southwest based specialist care provider is looking for a dedicated and caring Activity Assistant to join their growing team. Ideally have experience in a similar setting although this is not essential and be sympathetic to the needs of those with dementia.

Main duties and responsibilities:

- To be aware of the National Minimum Standards (and any subsequent statutory requirements) related to Daily Life and Social Activities.
- To be aware of the social and recreational needs of the residents as recorded in their care plan.
- To plan and implement appropriate in-house activities on a one to one, small group or large group basis which stimulate and enhance the lives of the residents.
- To plan and organise trips to appropriate places and make contact with outside bodies who can visit the home to entertain/educate/stimulate/spiritually uplift the residents.
- To keep written and photographic records in line with the homes record keeping policy.
- To develop good relationships with residents friends/relatives and inform them when opportunities arise about activities experienced.
- To work successfully as part of the care team
- To plan, organise and store resources necessary for successfully carrying out his/her role.
- To mount attractive displays about activity events
- To closely liaise with the home manager/nurse in
a charge to ensure that good communication,
b. planning and organisation is achieved related to all
c. activities.
