This company is recruiting for the role of Accounts Assistant located in Oldham. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join an award winning business.

Joining a small team as Accounts Assistant, you will report to the Finance Director and contribute to the all-round smooth running of the department.

Your duties will broadly consist of:

- Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including the posting of journals, prepayments and accruals.
- Balance sheet and Profit & Loss reconciliations and analysis.
- Maintain and control the fixed assets register
- Maintain the Purchase Ledger, to include processing invoices/credit notes, reconciling invoices and statements, reviewing aged debts and processing payments.
- Bank & Cash reconciliation on a weekly basis (USD, Euro & Sterling)
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns, Intrastat & EC Sales Lists to the required deadlines
- Submission of National Statistics
- Collate information on a monthly basis in preparation for the completion of the year-end tax computations
- Assist in the production of annual budgets in accordance with the company timetable

They are looking for someone that is AAT Qualified or Studying for an Accountancy Qualification such as ACCA or CIMA, excellent IT skills and proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, IF statements etc).

The successful candidate will be proactive and able to demonstrate their ability to meet strict deadlines, have attention to detail and possess strong communication skills.
