The Role:
This independent Investment Bank is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic accounts assistant, and is offering apprenticeship study support for Level 4 AAT and ACCA. In this varied and challenging role, you will work as part of a team of five to run a busy finance department within an Investment Bank, focusing on both accounting and reporting responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be studying for the AAT Level 4, or will have completed level 3. Alternatively you may be a Graduate who is exempt from a number of modules in the AAT or ACCA. You must have at least one year of work experience in a similar position and be looking for your next step in your career. You should be professional, commercially aware, and demonstrate an interest in Financial Services.

Reporting to:
Chief Financial Officer

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting
- Record, analyse and pay invoices and expense claims
- CSA’s, invoicing and journal preparations
- Sales and purchase ledger work
- Assisting with preparation of VAT returns
- Ad hoc duties within the finance department, as required.
Reporting
- Preparation of daily flash revenue / P&L reports
- Assist with month end production of Executive Management and Board level reports & figures for the Senior Management
- Revenue allocation and reconciliations to various internal clients and external custodian clients
- Interrogation of Fidessa trading system to publish daily flows and respond to Business information requests
- Production and maintenance of daily cash position and operational reports
- Assist with production of regulatory reports.

Employment Terms:
- Permanent contract after 3 months probationary period
- 40 hours per week (8:00pm – 5:00pm)

Skills and Experience:
Essential
- An excellent work ethic and an outgoing and confident persona
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (specifically word & excel)
- Commercially aware with an interest in equities or the financial market
- Ambition to succeed and become ACCA qualified
- At least seven A - C GCSE’s, including Maths & English
- Detail oriented, analytical and logical
- Able to prioritise key tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to demonstrate a proactive and innovative attitude to tasks
- Ability to interact with all levels of seniority

Desirable
- Advanced Excel
- Experience using accounting systems Sage and Concur
- Financial Services experience
