An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant dealing with Sales Ledger and Credit Control in a growing, forward thinking IT consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to progress a career within accounts / administration and assist in providing support in all aspects of financial control and business administration.

You will assist with raising invoices, the daily credit control and sales ledger activity along with providing administrative support to the business. The successful candidate must have a sound knowledge of Sage 50 or Xero and excel.

Duties

- Raising sales invoices through Sage/Xero
- Chasing outstanding debt by methods of telephone and email to reduce overdue ledger and improve debtor days.
- Updating excel ledgers
- Send out overdue account statements.
- Reconciliation of customer accounts.
- Prepare monthly aged debtors reports.
- Raising client credit applications and checking credit reports.

Skills required

- Proven experience in credit control
- High level of proficiency in Excel.
- Experience of Sage 50 or Xero
- Provide excellent levels of customer services to both external and internal customers.
- The ability to work in a team as well as individually
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- An efficient and timely collection of debtor balances ensuring clients pay on time
