This company is a global leader in the creative promotional merchandise arena and one of the largest promotional product suppliers in the world. Their reputation for quality, service and customer satisfaction is second to none and their impressive client list includes many global blue chip brands.

The key purpose of the Account Manager role is to play a crucial role in the ongoing development and success of the business.

Dealing with a wide range of interesting and fun merchandise every day, you will be encouraged to put forward your own new product ideas to generate further interest from customers and prospects, ably supported by your account management colleagues as well as the in-house design team.

You will need to build strong relationships and maintain regular contact with a variety of suppliers, liaising regularly with suppliers in Europe and the Far East whilst also encouraged to bring on new supply routes. You will also be expected to negotiate on costings and ensure projects are delivered on budget.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

Key Tasks:
- Manage your own clients account, providing outstanding customer service
- Responsible for troubleshooting and dealing with any issues that arise
- Build effective, professional relationships with your accounts
- Be proactive in identifying opportunities with your clients
- Keep in regular contact with your client base ensuring they are happy with the service and products provided
- Negotiate on costings and ensure projects are delivered on budget
- Provide regular updates to the Directors on any issues or opportunities identified
- Liaise with other areas of the business as required to ensure your client accounts run smoothly
- Proactively look for new business opportunities and follow these through
- Other ad hoc tasks or projects as required to carry out your role effectively and support the business

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Essential:
- Ideally a graduate or equivalent in experience
- Proven skills in hitting and exceeding sales targets
- Buying experience in either promotions or retail industries
- Commercially aware
- Presentation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a good telephone manner
- Customer service skills, demonstrating customer excellence
- Advanced Excel skills
- Good IT skills including Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
