Second Line Support Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, progressive and forward looking Managed Services Provider and IT Consultancy.

They are looking for a proactive and analytical Second Line Support Engineer to join their busy and dynamic team supporting users at their education client sites. Successful candidates will be those demonstrating a wider ranging knowledge, experience and interest in other technologies.

The role will be based on secondary school sites in Redbridge and Waltham Forest. You must have a professional, flexible and personable approach to client relations and should demonstrate initiative and possess the ability to prioritise tasks yourself.

Although you should already have relevant qualifications or be able to show evidence of your commitment to a course of study; you will be supported and encouraged to pursue continual professional development

Responsibilities:

- Desktop and end user support
- Creating and updating documentation and processes
- Maintenance and management of IT hardware on a day to day basis
- Software installation and troubleshooting
- Software updates and upgrades
- Backup management, including data restoration
- Creation and management of user accounts
- Keeping desktops & servers up-to-date with current service packs & patches
- Raising issues, calls and liaising with third line support
- Prompt response and resolution of support calls
- Leading initiatives for implementing new processes to enhance teamwork and working environment

Essential requirements:

- 3+ years' relevant experience providing 2nd line user support
- Technically inquisitive, with a proven ability to keep up to date under your own initiative
- Proactive, personable, confident and analytical

Advantageous experience:

- Prior employment within a Managed Service Provider
- Previous experience within a school environment
