Waitrose Recruitment Moves Online To Find New Staff

Waitrose is combining a conventional recruitment day with an online recruitment process to find the 65 staff needed for its new store in Knutsford, Cheshire.
The high-end supermarket chain is holding a recruitment day on Tuesday 26 April, but is also directing people through to its website to register their interest for the positions, which include customer service and food preparation jobs.
Personnel growth manager at Waitrose, Andy Hewson, said they were looking forward to making the most of the varied forms of recruitment in order to have the best possible range of candidates from which to pick the new employees.
"We're really looking forward to meeting those in the local area who are keen to join us on our new and exciting journey to make the new store a success," he said.
The supermarket is the food stores arm of the John Lewis Partnership brand and has long been cited as one of the UK's top employers. All employees are awarded a stake in the partnership, which affords them benefits such as adult learning and skills enhancement provisions, leisure facilities and education subsidies. Last month, employees received 18 per cent of their annual salary as bonuses for the company's good performance in the last year.
