Barclays Launching Recruitment Drive In Dorset

Barclays has begun a major recruitment drive in Dorset to find 300 new customer service staff for its new operation in the town.
The banking giant announced the plans for the new staffing drive just a few months after it announced it would be outsourcing 126 jobs in its pensions administration department to a third party company from October. The 300 new jobs will be in a different department to the jobs being outsourced, but the company is looking to take on the new staff as soon as April.
“We can confirm we’re recruiting for a number of temporary and permanent roles at Barclays House in Poole as part of our investment in the agenda of managing customer complaints,” a Barclays spokesman confirmed.
“The way in which we manage our complaints procedures is a top priority for Barclays and these new roles will support the ongoing work already being undertaken by existing employees across the organisation,” he added.
The leader of Poole Borough Council, Elaine Atkinson, said that the new jobs clearly showed that the town is “open for business”, and came on the back of other major business expansion announcements.
She explained, “This follows recent announcements of the RNLI bringing its production and maintenance of their all-weather lifeboats in-house to its HQ facility in Poole and Condor Ferries rescheduling all its sailings from Weymouth to Poole throughout the summer”.
