Technology trendsetters Apple have launched an online recruitment programme to enlist enough staff to be able to cope with the expected surge in demand when the highly-anticipated iPhone 5 is released in the Autumn.
The company has posted a number of online recruitment advertisements, in which they specify that they are looking for "full-time iPhone Sales Staff for an exciting project to work 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday) for the period 16 August - 29 October within key retail stores."
The iPhone 5 is expected to be launched in the UK at some point during September, following a high-profile roll out in the US over the summer.
The job advert is seeking sales and technical staff - so-called 'Geniuses' - for stores across the UK. Candidates should have some experience in selling mobile phones or a very strong knowledge of the iPhone and its applications. They are also expected to have excellent communication skills and will be paid £75 per day.
Apple has been steadily increasing its retail presence in the UK since opening its flagship store on London's Regent Street in 2004. The company's presence in London surpasses that of any other city in the world, with the Regent Street branch setting a city record for being the most profitable shop in London per square foot and the state-of-the-art Covent Garden store currently the biggest Apple store in the world.
