When Should You Use Social Networks?

With the rise in popularity of social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, more and more companies are using these platforms as a way of engaging with their workforce and as a tool to help them in their recruitment efforts. Knowing when the best time to use social networking sites can help you increase the number of people who click on your links, and if you are posting a job advertisement, more clicks will equate to more candidates for you to choose.
Research has shown that the best time to post on both Twitter and Facebook is in the afternoon with 12 and 1 pm coming in as optimal times. Posting around these times will give you more links than posting earlier in the day or later at night.
The interesting fact of the research shows that more and more people are accessing social networking sites during their working day when more people have access to the internet and computers. Although job-related content is not consumed by users in the same way as other content, the research still holds true, post in the afternoon to reach the most amount of people.
While some people are restricted when it comes to what they can view in their workplace, the increase in the number of smartphones in use means that people are able to access these platforms when they like and they are choosing to do so in the afternoon.
