Technology company Oracle is to harness the power of online recruitment and social networks to recruit for 1,700 new jobs it is creating across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The company is looking to boost its staff in order to be able to meet the demands of new and developing technology such as cloud computing - and is turning to the power of the internet to do so.
It will be looking to hire both technical and non-technical staff, with roles being created for developers and engineers, as well as for sales staff, who will not require technical degrees to apply.
Oracle's vice president of technology solutions, Alan Hartwell, said that it was one of the largest recruitment initiatives they had ever launched, and they were looking to make use of all possible recruitment channels in order to find the best staff.
"It is safe to say this is one of the biggest graduate recruitment drives the company has ever undertaken in the UK," he said. “We work with some of the largest and most innovative companies in the world and need people who are excited by the challenges that brings."
The recruitment drive will boost Oracle's employee numbers in the region roughly 8 per cent from the current 22,000.
